Calling all basketry enthusiasts, both those experiences and those enthralled. There are a few spaces remaining in the workshops of Thomas Holtkamp and Polly Giacchina.
Weaving a stool in narrow binder cane will be the project completed in the workshop with Thomas Holtkamp. Teaching himself to seatweave over 40 years ago, he brings this wealth of experience to the classroom. Imagine having a weekend with other enthusiasts, learning with a master, and retuning home with a completed project.
Using the basketry technique twining, Polly Jacobs Giacchina’s workshop will concentrate on small format weaving. Distinctive individual beads and brooches will be created. Polly weaves large sculptural work with natural materials, and she seeks to reintroduce nature through new shapes, forms, and a mix of materials. It is another opportunity to have time with other enthusiasts, learn with a master, and return home with a completed project.
