Do you have a friend or relative that loves your fiber art? Someone who has always wanted to learn to spin, weave, make baskets, felt or try other fun fiber arts? (This might be you!) Tell them all about Tradition/Innovation – A Fiber Artisans Conference May 18 – 20, 2012. If you are really generous you can even offer to pay for their registration – but really, just letting them know about all the beginner, intermediate and advanced classes, plus the vendor hall, galleries and fashion show will be a wonderful gift. (You can also ask that special relative (who has no idea what you really want for the holidays) to help you with the conference fees!)
Here is a list of the beginner classes at the conference: Full class details and registration info is available on this site at 2012 Oakland.
Beginning Spinning with Stephenie Gaustad
Cedar Pockets Basketry with Kay Harradine
Rigid Heddle Weaving Basics with Syne Mitchell
Tablet Weaving Basics with John Mullarkey
Needlefelted Flowers and Other Embellishments with Carin Engen
Passementerie – Tassels with Robyn Spady
REMEMBER: We also have a Facebook page – CNCH 2012 OAKLAND – which will help you spread the word to friends and fiber artisans outside of the CNCH family.
