NEW WORKSHOP ADDED TO CNCH 2019!!!
We recently discovered that the hugely popular Kumihimo teacher, Karen Huntoon, is available to teach at the CNCH 2019 “Fiber Therapy” Conference at Sonoma State, June 20-23. We’re so excited to add her workshop to our lineup!
Here are some details of this new offering:
Title: Endless Possibilities of an Extra-Ordinary Braid: The Many Faces of the Kongoh Gumi
Class Description: In this Intermediate workshop, taught on a Kumihimo Foam Disk, we will explore adding and subtracting elements “on the go, ”changing from 8 to 12 to 16 elements and then tapering within a single braid, exchanging core elements along the length of the braid to alter colors and patterns, manipulating exchanges, using independent core elements and reversing spirals.
Students will make samples as well as start a braid to be used for a bracelet.
Level of Expertise: This is an INTERMEDIATE level workshop. Students must have basic knowledge/experience in Kumihimo and be very comfortable braiding 8 and 16 strand Kongoh Gumi braids on a Foam Disk. This is not a beginner workshop. To enroll, you must have experience braiding on the Foam Disk.
(Karen adds: “I stress experience with a foam disk as I have Marudai braiders show up who have never used a foam disk and they are essentially beginners.”)
Materials Fee: $25
