Endnote 2/18

This issue salutes the new year and we can only hope that the worst is behind us. Life is getting back to normal after the fiery upheaval in October and the following months where many of us were trying to figure out where and how we would live after the fire died and the ashes were carted away.

I have been looking over our old issues to see what we haven’t highlighted lately and I’m also dependent on you (that is the plural ‘you’) for letting me know what you want to read and, better yet, what you would like to write about.  As a starter, there are still eleven guilds who need to update their histories and send them to me for publication.

Spinning always interests me.  Are there any new fibers or blends that have caught your fancy or any new techniques to make interesting yarn?  Tell us about them.

How about needlepoint or bobbin lace or tatting?

Does your dog, cat or parrot engage in your fiber work with you? Have you gone to any far away places with strange sounding names and saw the residents doing fiber work?  Send pictures and an article.

Or would you like to explore color?  Pantone announced it’s Color of the Year is Ultra-Violet.  Will that affect your weaving palette this year?  How?

I’m looking for new ideas as well as a new twist on old ones.  So put on your thinking cap, sharpen your pencil or crank up the computer.  You, too. can be an author and stimulate your large peer group to try something new or renew an old interest.  Sharing your thoughts, ideas and craft is a way to build a community.  That is the prime purpose of CNCHnet.
