CNCH 2013 Squaw Valley

Come to Squaw Valley

CNCH 2013 is just around the corner  – well, not quite, but it is time for everyone to get their registration filled out and sent in.  The committee members knew that some of you would procrastinate and then be sad because all the good classes were filled, so they have a big surprise in store for you.

Three outstanding classes have been added to the schedule and still have space for more registrants.   Consider the Shaped Nuno Feltmaking (bags) on Sat. AM, Cyanotype on Sat. PM and Twining a Placemat on Sun.
Are you up for the fun of the conference, but not really a weaver?  Lorna Miser of Lorna’s Laces will be teaching three knitting classes and Carson Demers will be there as well to give much needed advice on how to keep those knitting hands nimble and pain free. Here’s a tip for those who want to learn a new skill;  Marilyn Moore has a terrific class planned in which her students will make Crescent Twined Wire earrings.  Of course we could go on and on because all of the classes are fascinating and are being taught by “Textile Olympians”.
We will probably all agree that the most important parts of conferences are the classes and seminars.  But there will be much more in the way of entertainment and amusement on this first weekend in June. Friday afternoon’s “Tailgate Market” is for fiber folks who love to shop.
There’s a good selection of textile games for competitive types and hot house flowers alike.  Join the parade where you can show off your latest fiber creation, wearable or not. (Make sure to send in the Textile Parade Entry Form). There will be door prizes galore and, because you are registered, you automatically have a chance of winning one. Let your “Textile Games” booklet be your guide, or check the CNCH website frequently where we will do our best to entice you into joining the fun.
Early registration numbers have been very good for this exciting alternate year conference.  If you have registered but have not heard back from us, just pop off an e-mail to the registrar, CNCH2013registrar@yahoo.com,  and she will resend your confirmation message.  Sometimes her messages are lost in e-mail spam folders.  Also, if you need  roommates for the conference, send an e-mail to berylmoody@yahoo.com and she will put you in contact with others who are searching.
We want to invite all of you to join us in publicizing CNCH this year.  “Like” our Facebook page (CNCH 2013), send out links to the CNCH web site from your Twitter feed and talk about the event with your friends.  Help us spread the word and fire up enthusiasm for this special spring fiber break in the beautiful Squaw Valley.
