CNCH 2022, SPRING: CREATIVE RESILIENCE
EUGENIA GWATHNEY BOB DARCHI, CO-CHAIRS
Planning is coming to a close and the Conference is near, so you want to know, “what is it all about.” For the past 2 years a group of faithful guild members and a few draftees have been earnestly working, meeting on Zoom, making a few site visits and presenting the Liaison Luncheon last September. Several ideas were taken into consideration and accepted or discarded to meet the goals, the theme of this conference and the overall tenets of the Conference of Northern California Handweavers.
Besides the classes planned and managed by Nancy Williams-Baron and Maureen Miller, there are a few other offerings for your amusement:
Bidding on the guild baskets for the Grant Fund Raiser,
Demos in Basketry, Kumihimo, Spinning, Tapestry and Weaving
Special Interest weaving group meeting during the Lunch time hours,
Twist, Complex Weavers,
Gallery and Vendor Halls.
And Again.
Bidding on the varied donated gift baskets to benefit the Grant Fund for Future Conferences.
Grant winners this year are
Area 1: Michael Bergen, Black Sheep Handweavers
Area 3: John Sutton, Spindles & Flyers
Area 5: Lynnette Lux Bourne, Silverado, Redwood
There were no applicants from Areas 2 and 4.
We have enjoyed getting to know and work with the committee members. Thankfully we had members from Area 4 added to our numbers to get all the positions filled to make the conference come to fruition.
Members of the Planning Committee are Nancy Alegria, Madeline Brane, Carol Causey, Pam Crause, Sharlet Elms, Sheila Fitzgerald, Marylou Hodgson, Carol Gray, Betsy Gribble, Lizette Hopkins, Gloria Johnson, Amy Kuhlmann, Andrea Longo, Cynthia McAfee, Maureen Miller, Reba Siero, John Sutton, Nancy Williams-Baron and Suzanne Woodhead.
A Special Thank You to our mentors the late Joan Anderson, Marlene Golden, Suzanne Woodhead, and the Advisory Council of CNCH. As well as our Executive Director Erin Maclean.
For your convenience we are posting the schedule of events in the newsletter. Feel free to download and bring to the conference for reference during the festivities.
