PANTONE’S COLOR OF THE YEAR
PEACH FUZZ
Every spring, Pantone announces their Color of the Year. For 2024, Peach Fuzz, 13-1023, is its new Color of the Year, along with its coordinated color palette. The theme is picked up by designers everywhere – from clothing to paint, yarn to rugs, smart watch straps to espresso mugs. Even Motorola’s newest cell phone!

This explains why my new sneakers are peach-colored. Not very practical for sneakers, but hey, sure are pretty. Cariuma, a sneaker maker, promises to plant trees in Brazil for every pair of new kicks purchased.
Finally, a color I can really get behind!
So let’s have a little fun, shall we? How about another contest to make something woven/knitted/crocheted, or dyed or sewn, even a paper-based creation. The sky is the limit! Just use this palette:

I noticed that when I printed off my draft of this article that the colors were skewed to orange from what I was seeing on my screen, so I would suggest going to a paint shop for some chips, or use your smart phone for better colors. Or maybe I just need a new printer.
For judging, we will use “People’s Choice” at the conference at the end of April. Send me a jpeg picture of your creation or the actual item, itself, by April 15. Include your name, address, guild, phone number to cmkoos0001@gmail.com If you send me your physical entry, send it to me at Cathy Koos, 11310 Prospect Drive, #10-33, Jackson Ca 95642 so I receive it by April 15. If you mail it, please also notify me by email that it has been sent. Go forth and create!
