SPRING:
CREATIVE RESILIENCE
May 19-22, 2022
After three years of isolation, social distancing, fear and worry, how truly enjoyable to be among weaving enthusiasts again. The canceled conferences of 2020 and 2021 were to be the 68th and 69th year for CNCH. As a result in 2022 we will be celebrating the current 70th year and the lost years of 2020 and 2021.
What are your thoughts on spring? Flowers like tulips, hyacinth, daffodils and the blossoms of fruit trees? Our artist Harry Greenberg thinks “Cherry Blossoms” represent spring beautifully. Join us celebrating Cherry Blossoms this spring.
The 2022 conference promises to be a joyful celebration of being together in our happy place (the Fiber Arts atmosphere) taking advantage of “in person instruction”, companionship, creativity and a return to some normalcy in our world. To learn, to be among friends, to revel in creativity. Doing what we love is our objective.
This year we are offering plenty of free time to shop, visit, and view the galleries, in addition to plenty of time to see your associates in fiber arts at the San Mateo Marriott San Francisco Airport.
The conference area is primarily located on the second floor. Guest rooms are located on floors 2 and 3 allowing easy access for those with limited mobility.
Once again hands-on learning is spotlighted by the program committee which includes a variety of techniques, teachers and skill levels.
On Thursday night we will be hosting a welcome Meet and Greet with light snacks and a no- host bar. Friday we’ll feature a fun Textile Tableau with no-host bar and dessert. Saturday night will feature Keynote Speaker Mary Zicafoose and dinner, concluding with the gala gift basket silent auction results.
Shopping in the marketplace will be available Friday to Sunday for your retail therapy. Live it up, see and touch fleece, roving, yarn, looms, carders, spindles, beads, bags, and much more. Plan to indulge your “I see it, I touch it, I gotta have it” impulses. Add to your stash. A real shopping experience awaits you.
After three years of isolation, social distancing, fear and worry – how truly fun to be among fiber arts enthusiasts again!
Sincerely,
Eugenia Gwathney and Bob Darchi, 2022 Conference Co-Chairs
