Well—The month of May isn’t quite Summer and—since I’m writing this mid-April and it is sputtering rain off and on— I’m not quite ready to give up my turtlenecks and furry moccasins for tank tops, shorts and sandals. BUT- I know that bright warm Summer days are in our future!
This issue has a little history among its’ articles, check out the colors of the real ancient Greeks, and The Hargrove Study Group is exploring weaving patterns and advice from a publication dated 1792.
There is also an update on deciphering quipus -another way to communicate through fiber.
Then consider the future—
I’m sure many of you have signed up for Convergence 2018 in Reno, so be sure to read about updates and consider volunteering for a time when you’re there.
And have a peek at next year— Joan Near tells us about the 2019 CNCH conference to be held at Sonoma State campus in Rohnert Park. Oh, for the joy of college life and living away from your parents!
I know that many of our Guilds take a Summer break. So if you are traveling and/or find something interesting to our fiber world, take pictures and write an article to share.
Above all, enjoy the coming days!
I hope to see many of you in Reno,
